Our pastor and staff are committed to provide inspiring Christian worship, education and programming with opportunities to serve our congregation, our community and beyond.

Rev. Leigh E. Goodrich

Leigh Goodrich joined the staff at Sudbury United Methodist Church in 2022.  An ordained elder in the UMC, she is passionate about social justice and the sacred worth of all people. 

Leigh has been privileged to serve as pastor in various ministry settings, including a new church start, two churches in the Boston suburbs, and a church in South Burlington Vermont.  She also served at the General Commission on the Status and Role of Women in Chicago, IL, as Senior Director of Education and Leadership. 

She is currently a member of the New England Annual Conference Strategic Implementation Team, the Sexual Misconduct Response and Intervention Team, and chairs the New England Annual Conference Sessions Committee.  She has been a delegate to 4 Jurisdictional and General Conferences.

Leigh received her Master of Divinity Summa Cum Laude from Boston University School of Theology.  She also has a Master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and received her B.A. from Purdue University (Go Boilers!).  She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) at McAfee School of Theology.

Leigh and her partner Greg are blessed with a wonderful family of children and grandchildren.

Rev. Zack Moser

Zack Moser is Pastor of Youth and Children’s Ministries. He is a candidate for ordination as a deacon in the United Methodist Church and has worked in youth and children's ministry since 2008. He received his Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School in 2011. Prior to attending Duke, Zack completed a MA in Liberal Studies from UNC-Wilmington and a BA in Communication Media from NC State University (go Wolfpack). He is particularly passionate about Christian education, mission work, and spiritual growth. He would love to tell you about the opportunities for young people in each of those areas here at SUMC, so feel free to call or email him to ask about what we have to offer young people and their families.

Kevin Murphy, AAGO

Kevin Murphy has been the Sudbury UMC organist and music director since 2001. Previously he was the music director and organist of the Weston United Methodist Church in Weston, MA. Pianist, organist, composer and teacher, Kevin studied piano with Alice Canaday and Victor Rosenbaum and organ with Will Sherwood and Peter Krasinski. He received a Senior Diploma from the New England Conservatory Extension Division in 1976, his BA from Harvard College in 1980 and his Master of Music from New England Conservatory in 1984. A member of the American Guild of Organists, he received its Colleague Level Certificate in 2001 and its Associate Level Certificate in June 2013.

 At NEC Kevin studied composition and electronic music with Robert Ceeley. From 1984 to 1991 he taught music at the Park School in Brookline, MA and was in charge of the Park music program from 1987 to 1991. He has given solo and chamber recitals of standard repertory and new works in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Michigan and New York. Kevin runs a private teaching studio, A Major Production. You can find a catalog of his compositions at the studio website, A Major Production.  He also teaches at the Charles River Creative Arts Program in Dover, MA.

Rob Hammerton

Rob Hammerton has directed the Sudbury UMC Sanctuary Choir since Fall 2001.  He began singing with the Choir in 1981, as a high school sophomore — so he’s living proof that Sudbury UMC Music has always been a welcoming environment!

Rob holds a Master’s degree in Music Education from Boston University, and a BA in Journalistic Studies from UMass-Amherst. Rob has taught music in Massachusetts public schools for sixteen years, directed the College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, MA) athletic bands from 2002 to 2006, and directed “The Waylers” community a cappella singers (Wayland, MA) from 1988 to 2000. Currently he is the conductor of the Nashoba Valley Concert Band.

He has written several commissioned wind ensemble works, six original children’s musicals, and “Eight Anthems for Advent and Christmas”, which was premiered at SUMC in 2013. Rob has been a member of the National Association for Music Education, the Massachusetts Music Educators Association, the American Choral Directors Association, and the New Hampshire Band Directors Association. He was elected to the University of Massachusetts Minuteman Band Hall of Fame and the Holy Cross Crusader Bands Hall of Fame, both in 2013.

Mike Greb

Mike, Business Manager, holds a Bachelor of Science in Business degree from North Adams State University in North Adams, MA, and a Masters in Business Administration from Suffolk University in Boston, MA. His past experiences include financial management, accounting, and project control responsibilities with detail to reconciliations, payments, corporate billing, surveys, budgeting and analysis, and technical program capabilities. During his down time, Mike is an avid gardener.

Shetal Kaye

Shetal Kaye joined the staff as the Office Administrator in 2010.  She holds a B.A. in Finance. Her previous employment includes working as a recruitment coordinator and legal hiring manager with several large and mid-sized law firms in New York. Shetal was also the Director of Career Services at New Jersey’s Seton Hall University Law School for several years.  Shetal enjoys putting her organizational skills in use at Sudbury UMC.
