Sunny Hill Preschool was founded as a non-profit organization in 1958 by the Sudbury United Methodist Church. The school is sponsored by the church, however religion is not a part of the curriculum. The school’s philosophy is based on our knowledge of child growth and development. Children learn and practice newly-acquired skills in a play-based setting. Emphasis is on the whole child’s cognitive, social, emotional, physical and language development. Academics are presented through our play-based setting as they prepare for kindergarten. Teachers develop classroom themes and activities that integrate sensory experiences, pre-reading and pre-math concepts, science, social studies, art, social and self-help skills.
Sunny Hill welcomes SUMC members and visitors to learn about the preschool, and to consider it for their children.
SUMC members receive priority placement during the enrollment process.
The school is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, and accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs.
