All are welcome to worship God at Sudbury United Methodist Church during Holy Week.
Worship on Palm Sunday will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 20th. The service will open with a procession of children waving palms and then, anticipating Jesus’ Passion, move toward a reflection on Christ’s suffering.
A Tenebrae observance on Wednesday, March 23rd, will include musical selections and readings focused on the betrayal, arrest, trial, and crucifixion of Jesus. The church’s musicians will lead this service starting at 7:00 p.m.
At 7:00 p.m. on Maundy Thursday, March 24th, worship will include a variety of traditional experiences: the Rite of Washing, Holy Communion, and the Stripping of the Chancel.
A Good Friday service featuring Tenebrae readings from Scripture, hymns, and prayers will take place in Davison Chapel on March 25th at 7:00 p.m.
Easter Sunday will begin with an 8:00 a.m. service in the chapel. At 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., Easter worship will include special music, our pastor’s Easter sermon, and, at 11:15, Holy Communion.
Please make Sudbury United Methodist Church your spiritual home during Holy Week.
