Winter Connexions Concert – January 25th
(Snow date February 1st)
Do you need a break from the cold and snow? Then come and enjoy an afternoon of musical performances and fellowship at the Winter Connexions Concert. The program will begin at 3pm in the church sanctuary on January 25th. Please note the snow date of February 1st, scheduled in case of inclement weather.
Kevin Murphy, SUMC’s music director, is planning an afternoon of performances that showcase the musical talents of church members and guest artists. We are fortunate to have several guest artists at the concert which include the following musicians: Chantal Hovendick, clarinetist with the United States Coast Guard Band; Steve Wade, assistant principal oboist for the Hartford Symphony Orchestra; Winston Edwards, vocals from Greenwood UMC; and Megan McPhee, violinist who will play a concerto movement. There will also be performances by several of our talented church members.
The concert is open to the public, so feel free to invite a neighbor, colleague or friend to spend the afternoon with us. A freewill offering will be taken to support the United Methodist Committee on Relief and their work to alleviate global hunger. Light refreshments will follow the concert.
