What is a Christmas Eve Lovefeast Service?
Have you never been part of a Christmas Eve Lovefeast service? Simply stated, it’s a service that includes a simple meal, hymns, prayers and testimony to the work of God’s spirit and love among us. For a Christmas Eve Lovefeast Service traditional carols are sung while accompanied by a brass ensemble, prayers and brief reflections of hope are offered, and the congregation shares a simple meal of cookies and apple cider. The service ends with everyone holding beautiful bees wax candles while singing Joy to the World.
The Lovefeast is a great service for children of all ages. It’s family oriented and a meaningful way for kids, parents and grandparents to celebrate the birth of Christ. The service tends to be more relaxed, as it is not as crowded and less formal. If you are looking for an uplifting, joyous service that emphasizes faith and fellowship then please consider coming to this year’s Lovefeast Service at 6 pm.
